Aquarium Planner is a free planning tool for freshwater aquariums. It helps you turn a tank size and a fish list into specific questions about adult space, shared water conditions, groups and behaviour.
Why we built it this way
A single stocking score hides the reason a plan may fail. A fish can have enough filtered water and still lack room to swim. We check space first, explain each finding and offer practical changes in the planner.
What you can do here
- Choose a tank footprint and compare complete stocking ideas.
- Check the actual fish counts together, using adult sizes.
- Read care ranges and their sources in individual species profiles.
- Share a plan as a link that restores the tank and its contents without an account.
What the tool cannot establish
It cannot measure your water, confirm a biological filter is cycled, predict every individual fish’s behaviour or diagnose illness. Care data and editorial examples still await expert review. A plan that passes the model needs observation and good husbandry in practice.
